JLL BIRMINGHAM
A workspace with sustainable design and advanced connectivity.
When JLL opened their new office in Birmingham, UK, we had the privilege of contributing biophilic elements to enhance the space. The office is located in a groundbreaking, all-electric, low-carbon building—setting a new standard for sustainable, future-focused workspaces.

The building’s design was driven by a commitment to achieving top-tier sustainability credentials. A key part of the decision-making process was aligning with Net Zero Carbon and well-being requirements. JLL aimed to deliver a best-in-class, energy-efficient office fit-out, with a strong focus on minimizing embodied carbon through a circular economy design strategy.
The goal was to achieve, at minimum, SKA Gold, BREEAM Excellent, and WELL Gold standards—demonstrating a clear dedication to environmental responsibility and employee well-being.

Planteria introduced a diverse selection of biophilic elements to bring nature and vitality into the building. We used a mix of freestanding planters, cabinet-top planters, shelving plants, and a striking overhead planting display—transforming the space into a biophilic oasis that fosters a sense of calm, creativity, and connection to nature.

The building also features spacious collaboration and games areas, quiet zones for employees who need a distraction-free environment, and a large open kitchen. One of the primary goals was to create a space that encourages collaboration—and this has been successfully achieved.
